Associated Press Sports Editors 45th Annual Conference on Sunday, June 17, 2018, in Nashville, Tenn.

Gary Potosky of the Philadelphia Inquirer has been elected second vice-president of APSE. He will begin his duties at the conclusion of the summer conference in Atlanta, which runs from June 16-19. He will serve a three-year term and will ascend to the presidency in 2021-22.

Potosky is sports editor of the The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia Daily News and philly.com. A 1987 graduate of Rutgers University, Potosky also has worked at the Asbury Park Press and the (dearly departed) Elizabeth Daily Journal.

He’s been a member of APSE since 2014. He’s a contest judge, a lead panelist at the summer convention, the co-creator of the APSE digital solutions page on Facebook and since June 2015 the chairman of the commissioners committee.

EDITOR’S NOTE: A profile of Potosky will appear on the APSE website in the coming weeks.
