Registration for the Associated Press Sports Editors summer conference is now open.
The conference will be held June 20-22 at the Marriott SouthPark Hotel in Charlotte, N.C. The room rate is $174 per night.
The theme of this year’s event is “Sports Journalism at a Crossroads.” Meeting the challenges of this industry requires reinvention, creativity, entrepreneurship and collaboration. The topics we have chosen for sessions and workshops reflect the type of tools and training we need for our future: AI and automation, audience development, newsletters, reimagined event coverage, managing people from afar.

We will also celebrate the great journalism our members have produced. On Friday, June 21, we will honor Los Angeles Times columnist Bill Plaschke at the Red Smith Award luncheon, and on Saturday, June 22, our contest winners will show us how it’s done before we hand out awards at our annual banquet that night.
