The Commissioners meetings will take place Thursday, April 20 and Friday, April 21, in New York City.
The NFL has not committed to date or time, but they promised they will as soon as they can. I’m almost certain either day will be late afternoon, 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Schedule will be updated as soon as the NFL is confirmed.
Below is the schedule with APSE liaisons listed in parentheses. I will keep the liaisons updated with any and all communication with the leagues from here forward. If you have questions or concerns about the meetings and you cannot reach me, check in with the liaison for the sport in question.
Those who are familiar with good hotels and rates in NYC, please share that info on the APSE Facebook post so others can make plans.
Only APSE member editors will be allowed to participate.
Sessions will be mostly off the record, but APSE has asked each league for 10-20 minutes toward the end of each session for on the record questions and answers. MLS, NCAA, NBA and NASCAR have agreed to the terms. The NHL, MLB and NFL have not responded. We will advise if there are issues.
Adam Silver’s wife is expecting in April, so his ability to be at NBA meeting could be compromised depending on when the baby is born.
IMPORTANT: Email gpotosky@phillynews.com if you are planning to attend, and to which sessions, even if you have already. A list for each league is necessary by end of March.
