APSE’s summer conference is nearly here, set for July 9-12 at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. We’re expecting a strong turnout as we celebrate the 50th year of our organization — more than 110 people are registered so far — and the schedule offers something for everyone.

You can download this year’s conference program from the PDF above.

We’ll kick things off Sunday, July 9, with an opening reception at the downtown Mob Museum, featuring plenty of Las Vegas history and a gathering in the basement speakeasy.

Other highlights during the week include NBA commissioner Adam Silver as our keynote speaker, Claire Smith receiving the Red Smith Award and the APSE awards dinner. Another gem should be our general session, APSE at 50, which follows the Red Smith luncheon on Tuesday. Many of the most prominent sports editors in our history will share stories and take us through APSE’s golden years. More than 20 former presidents are expected to attend.

And special thanks to all of our sponsors for this year’s convention, led by Major League Soccer, which is the title sponsor for this conference.
