The York (Pa.) Daily Record/Sunday News is seeking a multi-platform journalist to work for both our copy desk and GameTimePA.com. You will join our award-winning staff of journalists who cover high school sports, Penn State football, Atlantic League baseball and more in southcentral Pennsylvania.

We are a digital-first newsroom that focuses on being the first and best provider of the news that our readers need, across all platforms.

The seven-day Daily Record/Sunday News has a daily circulation of 55,000 and Sunday circulation of 88,000.

As a copy editor, this journalist will handle daily print and digital publication of content from three newsrooms – York and our sister papers in Hanover and Lebanon.

In addition to pagination, our copy editors handle the posting of local and national news across all digital platforms; posting and curation of social-media content; moderation of live chats; the posting of content to our blogs, and much more. Our copy editors are journalists and content creators and play a vital role as such in our department.

We are specifically looking for a copy editor with a strong background in multimedia and digital-first reporting, to serve as a part-time member of our GameTimePA.com coverage team. Responsibilities would include shooting, editing and posting video; coordinating GameTimePA special sections and projects; and some reporting and writing. We are seeking candidates with experience in producing video.

This is not just another copy editor position. While candidates must have solid copy-editing and pagination skills (we use Harris for page design), we are foremost seeking a digital-first journalist who understands the tools and mindset that will be needed for newsrooms to move forward and succeed during this time of unprecedented transition for our industry.
