Greetings, and welcome to the invite for our APSE Small Paper Hangout 4: Getting Ahead For The Fall.
In this session, we’ll be discussing high school football/fall sports section preview ideas that have worked, more about planning early for this content, and other high school coverage success stories that might spur you to a better 2019-2020 school year. We’ll be joined by:
- Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle. Brett covers the University of North Texas, but is the main editor for the DRC’s fall sports preview section, which includes a ton of high school content and has been honored by APSE for the past decade-plus.
- John Shifflett of The Daily Progress in Charlottesville, Va., which has won several special section and coverage awards for its high school preview and all-area content.
Brett and John will go over what’s worked for them, but don’t be afraid to come with an idea that’s done well for you in the past. We want this session to be open to a lot of suggestions and ideas for everyone to take away.
