BOSTON — After a day of great general sessions and workshops, you're going to need to unwind. Have a cocktail, maybe hit the dance floor. Mark Shanahan is the author of the Globe's Names column and spotlights Boston's nightlife — who's doing what and where they're doing it is at the top of his priorities. Here's a list of some hotspots (probably for younger sports editors not named Jorge Rojas). Mark says these are places to do some great people watching, watch sports on TV, listen to music, drink and even dance.

Remy's Seaport: Jerry Remy's happening new bar/restaurant in the Seaport. Lots of singles and lots of TVs. (For those who don't know, Remy is a former Red Sox second baseman and a gigantically popular analyst on the team's telecasts).

Middlesex : Groovy dancey vibe in Central Square in Cambridge. Good on the weekends.

Enormous Room: Another groovy hangout, tapas/drinky scene in Central Square in Cambridge. Coolest midweek before 8.

The Burren: Irish pub in Davis Square in Somerville. Laid back. Not so good for sports on TV.

Estate: This is where the elite partiers go. Loud.

Royale: See above.

Alibi: Bar at the Liberty Hotel. Can get crowded, but usually with singles and if the weather's nice, there's a sweet patio.

Revolution: Lots of singles.
