Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee the day-to-day operations for NFL Total Access
• Plans, directs and manages the creation of content for NFL Total Access
• Maintains control of production schedule and budgets for NFL Total Access
• Applies high level creative, journalistic and production skills in developing the concepts and content of show
• Supervise and provide guidance to show producers and other show personnel in the newsroom and control rooms, before, during and after shows
• Collaborates with Graphics on the design and implementation of innovative graphics for NFL Total Access
• Use a high level of sports knowledge and news judgment to determine concepts and content of show
• Liaison with NFL Digital in creating content and ideas that connect both platforms
• Strong awareness of social media and how to implement effectively into daily shows
• Must help in scheduling, evaluating and mentoring staff on all levels, including on-air talent
• Facilitates the review process for direct reports
• Works with Human Resources on decisions relating to hiring, firing, promotion and related compensation decisions for assigned personnel
• Ensures full compliance with the approved policies and operating procedures for NFL Media
• Oversees and ensures the highest journalistic standards for NFL Media
Qualifications:
•10 years working in live sports/news television required. 5 years line producing shows experience required. Experience working within a newsroom environment.
• Previous supervisory and leadership skills are required
• Familiarity with budgets and finance in necessary
• Must have a high level knowledge of football and football history
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Radio/TV/Film, or equivalent work experience
• Management style must be decisive but collaborative
• Experience generating news concepts from inception to execution
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed
• Good organizational and project management skills are necessary
• Must possess strong command skills and must be able to work in a fast pace environment
