3 Wire Sports and All Fields have had their applications for APSE membership approved in a vote by the executive committee.
3 Wire Sports, overseen by former Los Angeles Times sports writer Alan Abrahamson, gets about 10,000 visitors a month. 3 Wire Sports covers the Olympics, the Olympic movement and international sports. Launched in 2010, the site was described in James Patterson and Mark Sullivan’s 2012 bestselling novel “Private Games” as “the world’s best source of information about the (Olympic) Games and the culture that surrounds them.”
All Fields is a weekly newsletter that, as founder Michael Hendricks put it, covers “the multi-tentacled beast that is the modern sports world.” The newsletter covers everything from doping in tennis to college football realignment, always with a lens on the thinkpiece-worthy analysis that goes a layer deeper than the ticker coverage. It gets about 2,000 visitors per month to its Substack site.
