Angel Rodriguez, Sports Editor of the Los Angeles Times, has been elected Vice Chair of APSE’s West Region.
Rodgriguez was named Sports Editor at the Times in March, coming from the Washington Post, where he had been Deputy Editor for Mobile Innovation.
“I am thrilled to be voted as vice chair of the West Region and look forward to meeting and working with other journalists in APSE,” said Rodriguez. “As our industry continues to transition, organizations like APSE become even more important since there is so much to learn from how we all operate.”
Rodriguez started in Texas where he grew up in Houston and attended the University of Texas in Austin. He was part of a team that launched ESPNdeportes.com, was a digital sports producer and home page manager at the Arizona Republic, and was Sports Editor at the Cincinnati Enquirer from 2012-14.
