The first two section mandatory dates for the 2014 APSE Contest are Monday, Jan. 20 and Sunday, Feb. 23. Those dates were randomly drawn at the summer conference in Arlington, Va. in June.
The final Daily and Sunday section mandatory dates will be randomly draw on Dec. 31 and posted on the APSE web site. Information about how to enter the 2014 section and writing contest will be posted last this year.
Dues must be paid to be eligible to compete in the annual APSE contest. You can sign up at this link to sign up. The deadline for dues payment will be in October 2014. For more information on dues and how to get a free member when you sign up, go here.
Judging will take place Saturday, Feb. 7 to Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at the Doubletree Suites by Hilton Orlando in the Walt Disney World Resort. Room rates are $148 per night. If you are interested in judging, contact APSE 1st Vice President Mary Byrne at mbyrne@usatoday.com.
