The Harrisburg Patriot-News assembled a panel on storytelling for the Sharon Johnson Memorial Workshop on Nov. 18 at the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association headquarters in Harrisburg.

That workshop, which attracted 75 people, included John Luciew of the Patriot-News, author Marion Winik and Frank Wiese of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The sports panel featured baseball writer Dave Sheinin of the Washington Post, who talked about the Stephen Strasburg beat he had during the spring and summer, and freelance writer and author Christopher McDougall, best known for his book entitled "Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Super Athletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen."

In the fall, the Patriot-News sponsored a town meeting in Hershey that featured the Bears beat writer and AHL personalities.
