Lisa Wilson of ESPN’s The Undefeated and Justin Pelletier of the Sun Journal in Lewiston, Maine, have been elected second and third vice-president in the election that concluded on Friday night.
 
Wilson, as second vice-president, will serve a three-year term, ascending to the presidency in 2020-21. Pelletier, as third vice-president, will serve a two-year term, after which he’ll have the opportunity to run for second vice-president.
They will begin their duties at the conclusion of the summer convention in Nashville, which runs from June 17-20. At that convention, APSE president Jeff Rosen of the Kansas City Star will be stepping down. Replacing him as president will be John Bednarowski of the Marietta Daily Journal. Todd M. Adams of The State Journal-Register in Springfield, Illinois,will become first vice-president.
Wilson becomes the first African-American woman to be elected to office in APSE’s 44-year history. She is a senior editor at ESPN’s The Undefeated after a long and successful stint as sports editor at The Buffalo News.
Pelletier
Pelletier, who will replace Robert Gagliardi of the Laramie Boomerang as third vice-president, has worked at the Sun Journal since 2002. He became sports editor in 2012 and in 2016 was promoted to managing editor for nights, sports and digital.
