  • The Daily Herald in Everett, Washington, named Chad Davis as sports editor. Zac Hereth joined The Daily Herald as sports reporter/copy editor. 
  • ESPN added Robert Griffin III as a football analyst. LZ Granderson left ESPN with the end of his contract. Rachel Nichols and ESPN parted ways. Jackie MacMullen retired from ESPN. Max Kellerman departed from “First Take.” Deuce McAllister became a college football analyst for ESPN. Alex Smith became a football studio analyst for ESPN. 
  • The Gadsden (Alabama) Times added Ehsan Kassim to cover sports. He was previously with the Grants Pass (Oregon) Daily Courier. Teddy Couch left his role covering sports. 
  • NBC added Drew Brees and Maria Taylor to “Football Night in America.” 
  • On3 added Alex Byington as managing editor of its national sports/news desk. Justin Hokanson joined Auburn Live and On3 to cover college sports. Jeffrey Lee became senior recruiting editor for Auburn Live On3. 
  • The Philadelphia Inquirer added Gina Mizell as a 76ers reporter. Olivia Reiner started covering the Flyers; she was previously with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel covering the Green Bay Packers. 
  • The Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Washington, added Colton Clark as the Washington State reporter. Theo Lawson moved from covering Washington State to Gonzaga. Clark was previously at the Lewiston (Idaho) Tribune. 
  • The Sun Journal in Lewiston, Maine, named Wil Kramlich as assistant sports editor and Adam Robinson joined as a sports reporter. 
  • The Topeka (Kansas) Capital-Journal hired Jordan Guskey to cover Kansas sports. He previously covered Ball State for the Muncie (Indiana) Star Press. Brent Maycock left his role covering Kansas. 
  • Josina Anderson joined USA Today Sports+ as a senior NFL insider. 
  • Jim Ayello left his role covering the Colts for the Indianapolis Star. 
  • Patricia Babcock departed from her role covering sports for The Daily Herald in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

  • Steve Thomas retired as a sports reporter at the Bismarck (North Dakota) Tribune. He started at the Tribune in 1970.
  • Leah Vann took a job covering LSU football and baseball at The Advocate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was previously at The Gazette in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 
  • Maggie Vanoni started covering UConn women’s basketball for Hearst. 
  • JD Vaughn joined the Greenville (Tennessee) Sun as assistant sports editor. He was previously with the Standard Banner in Jefferson City, Tennessee. 
  • Reece Waddell left his role covering high school sports at the Denton (Texas) Record-Chronicle.
  • Andrew Wilson joined the West Virginia News in Clarksburg, West Virginia, as a sports multimedia journalist. He was previously at the Daily Chief Union in Sandusky, Ohio. 
  • The Athletic moved Jeff Howe to the role of NFL national insider from previously covering the New England Patriots. Matthew Fairburn moved to cover the New England Patriots after previously covering the Buffalo Bills. Fred Katz went from covering the Washington Wizards to covering the New York Knicks. 
  • ESPN put Alaina Getzenberg on the Buffalo Bills beat and Marcel Louis-Jacques on the Miami Dolphins beat. Louis-Jacques previously covered the Bills for ESPN. Getzenberg was previously with The Charlotte Observer covering the Carolina Panthers. Royce Young left his role covering the NBA for ESPN to take a role with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Josh Capers joined ESPN as an editor for NFL Nation, and he was previously sports editor at the Clarion Ledger in Jackson, Mississippi. Malika Andrews was named host of “NBA Today.” Max Kellerman was named host of “This Just In.” Rachel Ullrich joined ESPN as an MLB editor. Jamal Collier joined ESPN to cover the NBA. 
  • The Houston Rockets named Craig Ackerman as TV play-by-play broadcaster and Ryan Hollins as TV analyst. Katie Nolan parted ways with ESPN. 
  • The Knoxville (Tennessee) News-Sentinel added Emily Adams to cover high school sports and Cora Hall to cover Tennessee Lady Vols sports.
  • At the Mercury News in San Jose, California, Sharon Martin became night sports editor. She was previously with the Chico (California) Enterprise-Record. Wes Goldberg left his role covering the Golden State Warriors for the Mercury News. 
  • Michigan Wolverines football radio broadcasters Jim Brandstatter and Dan Dierdorf announced their retirement at the end of the 2021 season. 
  • Outkick added Glenn Guilbeau and Trey Wallace to cover the Southeastern Conference. Guilbeau was previously with The Advertiser in Lafayette, Louisiana. Wallace was previously with Rocky Top Insider. Dan Dakich joined Outkick to do a radio show. 
  • The Philadelphia Inquirer added Andrea Canales as night sports editor. Paul Domowitch retired from covering the NFL for the Philadelphia Inquirer. 
  • The Scarsdale (New York) Inquirer added Rob DiAntonio to cover sports. Todd Sliss moved from covering sports to news/features. 
  • Sportico added Eric Jackson to cover sports business. He previously was with the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Randall Williams left Sportico. 
  • TNT announced NHL broadcasters Brendan Burke, Darren Pang, Keith Jones, Jennifer Botterill, Tarik El-Bashir, Jackie Redmond, Anson Carter, Rick Tocchet, Paul Bissonnette, and Liam McHugh. Stan Van Gundy returned to TNT as an NBA analyst. 
  • The Washington Post added Ella Brockway as a multiplatform sports editor and Candace Buckner as a sports columnist.
