Bringing data journalism to the sports section
Sports is absolutely drowning in data, and there is a large and hungry audience for sports content. Alongside that, there’s a large and growing open-source sports analytics community that data journalists should be a part of. In this hands-on class, MaryJo Webster, the data editor at The Minnesota Star Tribune, will take you through examples of ways to do sophisticated analysis and how to visualize it to add context to teams, leagues and sports.
