The Associated Press Sports Editors has set meeting times, locations and agendas for several spring regional meetings.

APSE is a national organization that strives to improve professional standards for sports departments of professional news organizations and to recognize professional excellence among its membership. Membership is open to all daily newspaper administrative sports department executives, their supervisors and their assistants, regardless of whether those papers are members of the Associated Press. Regional meetings are open to members and non-members as well as editors, writers and students. Meetings are free unless noted.

Mid-Atlantic Region
When:
9 a.m.-3:45 p.m., April 14
Where: University of Maryland, College Park, Md.

Highlights: Training sessions on ethics and improving your page design are among the items on the agenda. Cost is $25 and includes breakfast and lunch. Fee is waived if attendee brings a visitor who is eligible to join APSE.

Southeast Region
When:
9 a.m.-5 p.m., April 21
Where: Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, Birmingham, Ala.
Highlights: An on-the-record Q-and-A session with Southeastern Conference commissioner Mike Slive and a discussion of beat reporting with veteran sports writers Pat Forde (Yahoo Sports), Lars Anderson (formerly of Sports Illustrated), along with USA Today Sports Vice President of Content Gerry Ahern are among the items on the agenda.

Evening pizza for those participating in speed networking with Northwestern students.
