Get ready for a Nashville sports history lesson, APSE colleagues.

Broadcaster Mike Keith and Pete Weber will describe the rise of professional sports in Music City during the keynote luncheon onJune 18 at the Marriott Nashville Vanderbilt. The duo will pinch-hit for Titans coach Mike Vrabel, who informed APSE last week that he has a personal scheduling conflict and can no longer attend the conference.

Keith has been the Titans radio broadcaster since 1996, becoming the team’s play-by-play broadcaster in 1998 when the franchise moved to Nashville.  He called the “Music City Miracle” play when the Titans scored in the final seconds to beat Buffalo in the 2000 playoffs. After a few losing seasons, the Titans are again a playoff competitor.

Weber has been the Predators’ play-by-play broadcaster since 1998, calling the Predators’ inaugural game on Oct. 10, 1998. He’s watched the Predators organization evolve from an expansion franchise to become a Stanley Cup contender.

Combined, Weber and Keith have been named Tennessee’s Broadcaster of the Year a whopping 15 times.
