APSE Contest
I haven’t heard much from you all about the APSE Contest, and I’ll take that as a sign that we’re in good shape. Kudos to Contest Chair Perryn Keys for getting us off to a strong start.
Perryn should have an update soon on how the divisions will be split up, so be on the lookout for a story on this site.
Winter Conference judging, reservations
We still can use more judges. Remote contest judging will begin soon, and in-person judging will follow during the 2026 Winter Conference, which will be held Feb. 22-26 at the South Point Hotel and Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
You can reserve your room here. The reservation cutoff date is Saturday.

Red Smith Award
Committee chair Matt Pepin should have a nominations call-out story posted in early February, and we are planning to hold voting from late February through mid-March, with a winner announced in early April.
2026 Summer Conference
Do you have ideas for panels, workshops and speakers during the 2026 Summer Conference in the Washington, D.C., area? Submit them here.
We’re looking for as many ideas as possible so we can begin planning while we’re in Las Vegas. Don’t be shy if you have a thought, and the sooner you submit it the better.
