Hi everyone, hope you are all hanging in there as the holidays quickly approach.
First, thanks to the organizations that have paid their APSE dues for 2026. And for those who have that on their to-do list, there’s still time to renew or join.
As mentioned in my September report, by becoming an APSE member you join a community of print and digital sports editors and writers who are committed to the highest standards of journalism while supporting each other through networking, mentorship and career development.
Here are some benefits of membership:
- Membership makes an organization eligible to enter the 2025 APSE Contest, and you won’t have to worry about paying dues while compiling your entry if you take care of that now.
- Invites to virtual workshops, region meetings and our summer conference, which will be held from July 16-18 in Arlington, Va.
- A community of editors and writers who can provide advice/support, share best practices and help you deal with issues large and small. APSE is a great resource for journalists who are early in their career, those who are in career transition and industry veterans.
- A network of journalists for recruitment and potential hire, whether it’s students for an internship, early-career journalists and potential sports editors.
- Access to the APSE directory.
If you have any questions about APSE membership or problems with payment, please email me at apsepresident@gmail.com or executive director Bill Eichenberger at billapse707@gmail.com.
