Contest judging
Thanks to everyone who has begun judging remotely. After talking with contest chair Perryn Keys it seems like we’re in good shape.
Also, one tip that Phil Kaplan passed along: “It may be a good idea to share with folks coming to the conference there is a free shuttle from airport to hotel and from the hotel to shuttle. The only catch is a reservation needs to be made in advance and can’t be done the day of arrival or departure.”

Red Smith Award
Nominations are still being accepted for the 2026 Red Smith Award, and more details can be found here. Please email Red Smith Award chairperson Matt Pepin at matt.pepin@globe.com if you have any questions.
Las Vegas business for all members
Whether you make it to Las Vegas or not, we’ll have some things on the agenda that affect all members.
These items will be brought up in new business either during Sunday’s opening meeting or Thursday’s closing meeting. The minutes for both meetings will be posted shortly after we adjourn.

Second VP nominations
We’ll take nominations for second vice president during the closing meeting Thursday morning.
Outgoing region chairs can move into a candidate position if they choose. Please reach out to me with any questions about the nomination process or if you have someone in mind.
