- Brandon Boles was laid off as a sports reporter for Prairie Mountain Media.
- Matt Bove said he was laid off as a sports reporter at The New Jersey Herald in Newton, N.J.

- The Burbank (California) Leader, Glendale (California) News-Press and La Cañada Valley Sun ceased publication, which led to layoffs for sports editor Jeff Tully and sports reporters Vincent Nguyen and Charles Rich.
- The Mankato (Minnesota) Free Press named Chad Courier as sports editor after Shane Frederick left his sports editor role for a position outside of journalism.
- The New York Post parted ways with sports reporter Kevin Kernan and sports columnist George Willis.
- RiverTown Multimedia in Red Wing, Minn., terminated the roles of sports reporters Alec Hamilton and Martin Schlegel.
