Want to report on how college athletics programs are making and spending money? Interested in digging into participation numbers and assessing gender equity? Rachel Axon of Sports Business Journal will be offering the webinar “Beyond the box score: Reporting on college athletics data” to APSE members and interested college journalists on Friday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. Eastern. (This is a change from the previously announced time.)

This session will help you see how you can use public databases to report on college sports. Journalists will get familiar with the Knight-Newhouse College Athletics Database, Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act data and finding other NCAA data sets. Rachel, who has been part of projects and investigations honored in the APSE contest, has previously discussed her work at the APSE summer conference in Las Vegas and presented a version of this session at this year’s Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) conference.
