Rivals.com, the #1 college football and basketball digital destination, is looking for an experienced, Santa Monica-based photo editor to work on its editorial and programming team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports in general, and football/basketball recruiting in particular, and a keen eye for fantastic photography editing. The primary functions will be overseeing Rivals.com’s photography and complementing Rivals.com’s 160+ network of digital properties.
Responsibilities:
* Create daily slideshows on the news of the moment
* Write headlines, summaries and captions for slideshows
* Edit all photos submitted from all-star camps, including the Rivals Camp Series
* Maintain photo database as well as handle photo requests from publishers, newspapers, universities etc
* Edit high school prospect photos on an as-needed basis
Minimum Job Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
* 3-5 years of sports journalism experience, preferably digital
* Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver
* Experience with complex CMS systems and HTML knowledge
* Passion for great sports journalism
* Ability to work when news happens, including nights and weekends
* B.A. or B.S.
