Two websites — Tiderinsider.com and AuburnSports.com – have been voted APSE membership by the APSE Executive Committee. The vote was unanimous.
As required by APSE bylaws, their application notices were posted on the APSE website for 10 days before the vote.
A look at both organizations:
TiderInsider.com
The Tider Insider brand includes a subscription-based website that was launched in October of 1996 and a live weekly television show that airs throughout most of the state of Alabama. The website covers University of Alabama athletics and recruiting, as well as basketball and other sports.
President and co-owner Rodney Orr is the primary news and information contributor. TiderInsider.com also has three correspondents who regularly contribute. Coverage includes game and practice reports, coach and player interviews, feature stories, breaking news and coverage of recruiting. The site also has a dedicated and vibrant message board community for its subscribers.
Tider Insider TV has aired since August, 2000, on WVUA23 in Tuscaloosa and is offered as part of cable packages, DISH Network and DirecTV throughout much of the state. Orr co-hosts the show along with WVUA23 sports director Gary Harris. The show includes coverage of all UA athletic programs on a weekly basis.
TiderInsider.com would be a Class D member under APSE guidelines.
