  • Marty Barrett took over as the sports editor at the Bolivar (Missouri) Herald Free-Press. He replaces John Harvey.
  • Nick Baumgardner became the Michigan football and basketball reporter for the Detroit Free Press.
  • Bryant Billing took over as sports editor at the Sidney (Ohio) Daily News.
  • James Edwards III became the Detroit Pistons reporter for The Athletic-Detroit.
  • Matt Faye accepted a sports reporter job at the Beaumont (Texas) Enterprise.
  • Harvey Fialkov announced on Twitter that he was laid off by the Florida Sun Sentinel after 28 years at the paper.
  • Parker Gabriel joined the Lincoln (Nebraska) Journal Star as the University of Nebraska football reporter.
  • Josh Hyber accepted a reporter position with Spurs & Feathers. He was previously with the Northwest Florida Daily News.
  • Nick Kelly took a position with the Columbia (Missouri) Tribune to cover Missouri athletics.
  • Sanjay Kirpalani became the Florida State reporter for Cox Media Group.
  • Pete Marshall announced his tenure ended as a San Bernardino (California) Sun and Inland Valley Daily Bulletin sports writer
  • Kimberley A. Martin accepted a sports columnist position with The Buffalo (New York) News.
  • Bob McGinn created the website BobMcGinnFootball.com to cover the Green Bay Packers. He has covered the Packers for 38 seasons.
  • Mark Medina became the Golden State Warriors writer for the San Jose Mercury News. He was previously with The Los Angeles Times and Southern California News Group.
  • Zack Meisel joined The Athletic-Cleveland to cover the Indians.
  • Nick Moffitt was named the Kalona (Iowa) News sports editor.
  • Dana O’Neil joined The Athletic’s The Fieldhouse as a senior writer.
  • Conor O’Neill joined the Winston-Salem (North Carolina) Journal on the Wake Forest beat.
  • Colton Pouncy took a position covering Austin Peay athletics for The Leaf Chronicle in Clarksville, Tennessee.
  • Lindsay Schnell joined USA Today to cover college basketball and football.
  • Paul Schwedelson became the Montana State football and men’s basketball writer for the Bozeman (Montana) Chronicle.
  • Bret Strelow announced he became director of strategic communications at Appalachian State. He was previously the Appalachian State writer for the Winston-Salem (North Carolina) Journal.
  • Jim Thomas took over the St. Louis Blues beat for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch after 26 years covering the NFL. He replaces Jeremy Rutherford, who announced Aug. 24 that he was leaving the paper.
  • Blake Toppmeyer joined the Knoxville (Tennessee) News Sentinel as the Tennessee Volunteers football reporter.
  • Luis Torres accepted a position with The Jackson (Tennessee) Sun.
  • Jonathan Toye became the sports editor for the Kerrville (Texas) Daily Times
  • Steve Ungrey joined The Blade in Toledo, Ohio, as a sports copy editor.
  • Andrew Vailliencourt announced he took over the Michigan football beat for Rivals.
  • Chandler Vessels accepted a position covering high school sports for ETSN.fm.
  • Chris Vivlamore moved to an editor position with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was previously the publication’s Atlanta Hawks beat writer.
  • Wynston Wilcox became a sports writer for the Niagara Gazette.
  • David Wilson took a position covering the Miami Hurricanes for Miami DieHards.
  • The Athletic added Jeff Pearlman as a columnist and Ken Rosenthal.
  • The Athletic’s The All-American brought on Nicole Auerbach and Jason Kersey. Auerbach was previously with USA Today.
  • The Athletic-Bay Area have new additions in Jimmy Durkin and Anthony Slater. Jimmy Durkin announced he took a senior editor position. Anthony Slater accepted a position to cover the Golden State Warriors.
  • The Athletic-Philadelphia brought on Derek Bodner, Rich Hofmann to cover the 76ers and Eagles, Sheil Kapadia, Charlie O’Connor to cover the Flyers, Mike O’Connor to cover the 76ers, and Bo Wulf.
  • Big 12 DieHards have new additions in Joe Buettner and Brady Vardeman. Both joined as breaking news writers.
  • The Dallas Morning News added J. Holmes as a digital producer. Adam Grosbard became the publication’s SMU reporter.
  • ESPN added Joel Anderson, Courtney Cronin, Brady Henderson, and Phil Steele. Joel Anderson comes to ESPN to cover college basketball and football. Courtney Cronin accepted a position covering the Minnesota Vikings for ESPN’s NFL Nation. Brady Henderson took over the Seattle Seahawks beat for ESPN.com. Phil Steele joined ESPN as a reporter and analyst for college football and betting.
  • The Oklahoman in Oklahoma City announced Scott Wright moved to covering Oklahoma State from the high school beat and Adam Kemp replaced him covering high schools. Kemp was previously a sports web editor.
