  • Jeff Arenz took the sports editor role at the Creston (Iowa) News Advertiser.
  • Nathan Brown joined the Indianapolis Star as a motorsports reporter. He was previously with the New Orleans/Baton Rouge Advocate. 
  • Mark J. Burns accepted a staff writer position at Sports Business Journal covering the NHL. 
  • Casey Buscher took a sports reporter position with FOX West Texas. 
  • Andrew Callahan joined the Boston Herald to cover the New England Patriots. He takes over the beat from Kevin Duffy. 
  • Mary Clarke became NHL editor for FanSided. 
  • Damichael Cole took a sports reporter position with The Philadelphia Inquirer. 
  • Bennett Conlin joined The Charlottesville (Virginia) Daily Progress to cover Virginia athletics. 
  • Ron Counts accepted a position at the Idaho Statesman in Boise, Idaho, covering Boise State sports. He previously covered Virginia for the Charlottesville (Virginia) Daily Progress. 
  • Alexis Downie joined Stadium as a sports reporter. 
  • Tom Elliott took over as sports editor at the West Central Tribune in Willmar, Minn. 
  • Brandon Folsom became a sports reporter with the Port Huron (Michigan) Times Herald. 
  • Angel Madison Franco joined The Dallas Morning News in a bilingual sports writing role. 
  • Jamie Goldberg moved to the Portland Trail Blazers beat at The Oregonian. She previously covered the Portland Timbers. 
  • Adam Greene took over as sports editor at the Morristown (Tennessee) Citizen Tribune. 
  • Nate Head became assistant sports editor at the Lincoln (Nebraska) Journal Star. 
  • Tyler Hetu accepted the sports editor role at the Creston (Iowa) News Advertiser, Osceola Sentinel Tribune, Fontanelle Observer and Adair County Free Press.
  • Ernest Hooper was named assistant sports editor of the Tampa Bay Times. 
  • K.C. Johnson joined NBC Sports Chicago as a Chicago Bulls Insider. He previously covered the Bulls for the Chicago Tribune. 
  • Michael Katz became the Wyoming sports reporter for the Wyoming Tribune Eagle/Laramie Boomerang/WyoSports.net. He previously covered Boise State for the Idaho Statesman. 
  • Reed Koutelas announced his new role as sports editor at Waverly (Iowa) Newspapers. He takes over for Riley Cole
  • Tony Lariccia joined the Seattle Times as a sports designer. 
  • David Lesnick retired as sports editor at the Daily Inter Lake in Kalispell, Mont. 
  • Charles McDonald joined the New York Daily News as an NFL senior writer. 
  • Fred McLeod, the Cleveland Cavaliers television play-by-play broadcaster, died suddenly at age 67. 
  • Stephen Meyer announced his departure from Bleacher Report as deputy MLB editor. 
  • Kevin Moore joined the York (Pennsylvania) Daily Record as a sports multimedia reporter. 
  • Ricky Moore announced his departure as sports editor of the Burleson (Texas) Star. 
  • Casey Musarra left her position with the Newsday sports department. She joined the website Diversity Inc. 
  • Matthew Narvaiz accepted the sports editor role at the Taos (New Mexico) News.
  • A.J. Perez announced his departure from USA Today as a sports reporter. 
  • John Reecer took the sports editor role at the Glasgow (Kentucky) Daily Times. 
  • Mike Rodak joined AL.com as a University of Alabama sports reporter. He previously covered the Buffalo Bills for ESPN.
  • Seth Rorabaugh accepted a hockey reporter position with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. 
  • Rainer Sabin joined the Detroit Free Press to cover Big Ten football. He was previously with AL.com. 
  • Jim Sacco moved from sports editor to managing editor at the Daily News-Record in Harrisonburg, Virginia. 
  • Michael Silverman accepted a new position at the Boston Globe, where he’ll cover the intersection of sports with business, politics, entertainment and technology. 
  • Kelly Snow left his role as sports editor at The Courier Times in Roxboro, North Carolina, to launch Person County Sports Now.
  • Dean Straka joined 247Sports as a writer on its national news desk. He was previously with the Dallas Morning News. 
  • Ben Teitelbaum announced his departure from Sports Illustrated.  
  • Sierra Webster took a sports reporter role at the Klamath Falls (Oregon) Herald and News. 
  • Ellis Williams joined Cleveland.com to cover the Browns. 
  • The Athletic added Matthew Gutierrez to cover Syracuse. Emily McCarthy joined the digital programming team. Thomas Drance started covering the Vancouver Canucks. Hailey Salvian took the Ottawa Senators beat. John Hollinger joined The Athletic as an NBA columnist. Jared Weiss joined to cover the Boston Celtics and the NBA. Aaron Gleeman became the Minnesota Twins beat reporter. Kelsey Russo took over the Cleveland Cavaliers beat. Pat McManamon joined to cover the Cleveland Browns. 
  • ESPN promoted Jeremy Fowler to NFL senior writer from the Pittsburgh Steelers beat. Brooke Pryor took over the Steelers beat after previously covering the Kansas City Chiefs for the KC Star. Eric Woodyard joined ESPN after previously covering the Utah Jazz for The Desert News in Salt Lake City. Andrew Lopez took an NBA writer role. Jenisha Watts took the general editor for culture role at The Undefeated. 
  • FOX added “Cousin” Sal Iacono to Thursday Night Football’s pregame show to prognosticate games. Charles Woodson joined FOX as a college football and NFL analyst. 
  • Gambling.com added Ron Fritz as assistant managing editor. He was previously with the Baltimore Sun. Dan Kilbridge joined Gambling.com to cover football gambling after previously working at Golfweek. Bill Speros joined Gambling.com as a senior producer. 
  • The Kansas City Star added Herbie Teope to cover the Chiefs. Sam McDowell moved to the Chiefs beat from covering Sporting KC. 
  • The Los Angeles Times added Jack Harris to cover the Kings and added Thuc Nhi Nguyen to cover UCLA, USC and the NBA. 
  • The New Orleans Advocate added Luke Johnson to cover the New Orleans Saints. He previously covered the team for The (Lafayette, Louisiana) Advertiser. Christopher Dabe also joined the Advocate sports staff. 
  • The Tennessean in Nashville named Gentry Estes as sports columnist and added Drake Hills as MLS reporter. 
  • The (Tucson) Arizona Daily Star added Alec White as digital sports producer/reporter.  Caitlin Schmidt became sports investigations and longform features writer.
  • The Washington Post Express ended publication. Its sports staff included sports editor Sarah Kelly and reporter Rick Snider
  • WFAN saw the departures of Chris Carlin and Tony Paige
