  • Kristine Auble decided to leave the Press of Atlantic City as a sports reporter.
  • Bill Ballou said he ended his time covering the Boston Red Sox for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.
  • Brian M. Bergner Jr. took the position of news/sports editor at The Daily Courier in Prescott, Arizona.
  • Tom Bragg joined The Charleston (West Virginia) Gazette-Mail to cover West Virginia athletics.
  • Alex Byington accepted a position covering Alabama athletics for the Montgomery (Alabama) Advertiser. He was previously with the Decatur (Alabama) Daily.
  • Kaleb Carter joined The Daily Chronicle in DeKalb, Illinois, to cover Northern Illinois and high school sports. He was previously sports editor at the Creston (Iowa) News Advertiser.
  • John Clayton announced he joined The Washington Post as an NFL columnist.
  • James Crepea accepted a position covering the Oregon Ducks for The Oregonian. He previously covered Auburn for AL.com.
  • Will Denner joined the Chico (California) Enterprise-Record as a sports reporter.
  • Dan Devine joined The Ringer to cover the NBA. He was previously with Yahoo!
  • Steph Driver announced she joined SB Nation as NHL Editorial Manager.
  • Mark Francescutti accepted a new role as senior engagement manager with The Dallas Morning News. He was previously the sports vertical editor.
  • Andrew Gillis joined the Bryan (Ohio) Times to cover high school sports.
  • Mike Gurnis departed from NJ Advance Media and the Star-Ledger as a high school reporter for a job outside of journalism.
  • Andrew Hammond accepted a sports writer position at the Tacoma (Washington) News Tribune.
  • Brian Hedger took a job covering the Blue Jackets for the Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch.
  • Gabe Hiatt announced his move to become editor of Eater DC. He was previously sports editor of Washington Post Express.
  • Ron Higgins took the position of sports editor/columnist for the Jackson (Mississippi) Clarion Ledger. He was previously with The New Orleans Times-Picayune.
  • Andrew Hussey joined Rivals’ The Wolverine to cover Michigan athletics.
  • Lee Jenkins revealed he is leaving Sports Illustrated to join the Los Angeles Clippers as Executive Director of Research & Identity.
  • Patrick Johnston announced he accepted a position covering the Vancouver Canucks for Province Sports and the Vancouver Sun.
  • Mike Kaye joined NJ.com to cover the Philadelphia Eagles.
  • Lance Lahnert ended his 37 years at the Amarillo (Texas) Globe-News.
  • Andrew Lopez announced he switched beats at NOLA.com to cover the Pelicans instead of LSU.
  • Marcel Louis-Jacques joined the Charlotte Observer to cover the Carolina Panthers. He was previously with USA Today’s Orange and White.
  • Greg Luca accepted a position at the San Antonio Express-News covering UTSA athletics. He was previously with The Monitor in McAllen, Texas.
  • Justin Martinez joined the Minot (North Dakota) Daily News as a sports reporter.
  • Kelly McElroy took the sports editor position at The Courier and Daily Comet in Louisiana. He replaces Brent St. Germain.
  • Cuyler Meade received a promotion to sports editor at the Aberdeen (South Dakota) American News.
  • Amy Moritz announced her departure as a sports writer at The Buffalo (New York) News.
  • Matt Nestor revealed his departure as sports editor from the Columbia (Missouri) Daily Tribune.
  • Fletcher Page announced he is joining The Cincinnati Enquirer to cover the Bengals. He previously covered Kentucky for the Louisville (Kentucky) Courier Journal.
  • Justin Parker left his position as sports editor of the Herald Citizen in Huntersville, North Carolina. He took a position in sports information at Davidson.
  • Davis Potter joined the Casper (Wyoming) Star Tribune to cover Wyoming athletics. He previously covered Mississippi for the Oxford (Mississippi) Eagle.
  • Nick Pugliese accepted the position of sports editor at The Palm Beach Post.
  • Mike Richman announced he is joining NBC Sports Northwest to cover the Portland Trail Blazers.
  • Ron Seibel joined the Toledo (Ohio) Blade as a sports copy editor. He was previously sports editor at the Albany (Georgia) Herald.
  • Danny Shapiro left his position as sports reporter at the Beaumont (Texas) Enterprise.
  • Mike Smith took over as sports editor of the Arlington Heights (Illinois) Daily Herald.
  • Kyle Vassalo said he is leaving Bleacher Report’s breaking news team.
  • Jack Wang announced his departure as LA Chargers writer for the Southern California News Group to work at the University of Chicago.
  • Amazon hired Andrea Kremer and Hannah Storm to do play-by-play and analysis on the NFL’s Thursday Night Football
  • The Arizona Republic added Emily Horos and Duane Rankin. Horos accepted a position of assistant sports editor at the Arizona Republic after previously being sports editor at the Aberdeen (South Dakota) American News. Rankin took over the Phoenix Suns beat after previously working at the Montgomery (Alabama) Advertiser. Michelle Gardner, most recently with the Southern California News Group, joined to cover Arizona State football and men’s basketball. Dana Scott is joining the Republic sports staff as a general-assignment reporter and web producer.
  • The Athletic added Alec Lewis and Daniel Popper. Lewis covers Missouri athletics. Popper covers the Jacksonville Jaguars. Adam Hirshfield left his position as digital editor at The Palm Beach Post to be an editor for The Athletic’s Florida properties. Mark Lazerus joined The Athletic Chicago as a columnist. Jess Myers joined The Athletic Minnesota to cover hockey. Murat Ates accepted a position with The Athletic Winnipeg covering the Jets. Jason Botchford joined The Athletic Vancouver to cover the Canucks. Scott Cruickshank took a position with The Athletic Calgary to cover the Flames. Josh Hargreaves joined The Athletic as senior editor. Daniel Nugent-Bowman accepted a job at The Athletic Edmonton to cover the Oilers. Sean McIndoe joined The Athletic NHL.   • The Athletic Arizona brought on Jay Dieffenbach and Craig Morgan. Scott Bordow and C.J. Holmes take on the Cardinals beat. Doug Haller is an addition as the Arizona State reporter. Gina Mizell is to cover the Suns. Catherine Silverman joined to cover the Phoenix Coyotes.
  • The Athletic Carolina added Ken Bradley as managing editor and Sara Civ to cover the Carolina Hurricanes.
  • The Athletic Houston added Rivers McCown and Aaron Reiss to cover the Texans. Kelly Iko joined the publication to cover the Rockets.
  • The Athletic Miami added Erin Brown, Manny Navarro, George Richards and Shandel Richardson. Navarro gets to cover University of Miami athletics. Brown and Richards are to cover the Florida Panthers. Richards was previously with the Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch. Richardson gets to cover the Heat.
  • The Athletic Toronto added Blake Murphy to cover the Raptors and Hailey Salvian as a general assignment reporter.
  • The Athletic Washington D.C. brought on Mark Bullock, Tarik El-Bashir and Rhiannon Walker to cover the NFL. Grant Paulsen joined as a columnist. Gregory Hampton Lee, Jr. accepted the position senior managing editor and was previously with Turner Sports and NBA.com. Fred Katz joined to cover the Wizards. Chick Hernandez accepted a general assignment reporter position. Pablo Maurer took a position covering D.C. United. Eamonn Brennan joined to cover college basketball. Chris Kuc took a position covering the Capitals. David Aldridge joined The Athletic Washington D.C. as Editor in Chief.
  • ESPN added Kim Brenneisen, Eddie Maisonet, Sam Ravech and Matt Ufford. Brenneisen joined as associate editor for the audience engagement team. Maisonet joined as an editor. Ravech joined ESPN to do play-by-play for college sports. Ufford took the position of director of digital video social content. Chris Forsberg announced his departure from ESPN.
  • The Indianapolis Star added Mike Berardino to cover Notre Dame football and Dana Hunsinger Benbow as a sports enterprise reporter. Berardino previously covered the Minnesota Twins for the St. Paul (Minnesota) Pioneer Press.
  • The Los Angeles Times added Andrew Greif and Nick Leyva. Greif will cover the Clippers after previously being at The Oregonian. Leyva joined the sports copy desk after previously being with The Orange County Register.
  • The Memphis Commerical Appeal added Khari Thompson to cover high school sports. Ron Tillery announced his departure from the publication, where he covered the Memphis Grizzlies.
  • The Miami Herald added Anthony Chiang to cover the Heat and David Wilson to cover the Miami Hurricanes.
  • The Peoria (Illinois) Journal-Star saw the departures of Aaron Ferguson as sports writer and Kirk Wessler as executive sports editor and columnist.
  • The South Florida Sun Sentinel added Safid Deen and Adam Lichtenstein. Deen is to cover the Miami Dolphins after previously covering Florida State for the Orlando Sentinel. Lichtenstein is to cover high school sports after previously being with the Palm Beach Post.
  • The Southern California News Group added Adam Grosbard to cover Long Beach sports. Ryan Kartje took over the Los Angeles Chargers beat for the Southern California News Group.
  • Sports Illustrated added Alaa Abdeldaiem as a breaking news writer and Elizabeth Swinton to the social media team.
  • The Tampa Bay Times added Eduardo Encina to cover the Buccaneers and Nick Kelly to cover the Lightning
  • The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Virginia, moved Tom White from sports editor to business editor. Jami Frankenberry was promoted from the Pilot’s assistant sports editor to sports editor for the Pilot and The Daily Press of Newport News, Virginia.
