  • David Cobb took a college sports reporter position with CBS Sports. He previously covered the Memphis Grizzlies for The Memphis Commercial-Appeal. 
  • Jenny Dial Creech joined The Athletic Houston as managing editor. She previously was a sports columnist at the Houston Chronicle. 
  • Tommy Culkin became sports editor of The Paris (Texas) News. 
  • Gabe Fernandez took a writing position with CBS Sports. 
  • Larry Graham became deputy director of local news transformation with American Press Institute. He was previously with The Blade in Toledo, Ohio. 
  • Jacob Hancock departed his sports reporter position at the Dunn (North Carolina) Daily Record. 
  • Derek Hatridge became sports editor of the McAlester (Oklahoma) News-Capital. 
  • Benjamin Hoffman took the role of senior editor for quality and planning in sports at the New York Times. 
  • James Jackson joined The Oklahoman as a high school sports reporter. 
  • Corey Kirk started as sports editor at the Baker City (Oregon) Herald. 
  • Keith Law joined The Athletic MLB as a reporter. 
  • Bill Leffler ends 63 years of covering sports for The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Va. 
  • Mitch Light joined The Athletic as managing editor for Memphis and Nashville. He previously worked for Athlon Sports. 
  • Sean McGuire took a reporter position with NESN. He was previously The Foxboro (Massachusetts) Reporter sports editor. 
  • Dave McQueen joined The Examiner in Jackson County, Missouri, as assistant sports editor. 
  • Nick Moffitt left as sports editor at The News in Kalona, Iowa. 
  • Brian Mozey became a sports reporter at the St. Cloud (Minnesota) Times. He was previously with RiverTown Multimedia. 
  • Billy Reed took a sports columnist role with NKYTribune.com. 
  • Alex Reimer joined OutSports as deputy managing editor. 
  • Jim Rich became editor of Deadspin. 
  • Stephen Ruiz departed his sports writing position at the Orlando Sentinel. 
  • Tim Schwartz became sports editor at The Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Md. 
  • Adam Shinder joined The Daily Gazette in Schenectady, N.Y., as a sports reporter. 
  • Terrence Thomas announced he was laid off by the San Antonio Express-News. 
  • Mason Wittner took the sports editor role at The Covington (Georgia) News. 
  • The Chicago Tribune promoted Jeremy Mikula to deputy senior content editor. David Haugh announced the end of his 17-year run as a sports columnist with the Chicago Tribune. 
  • ESPN added Kirsten Hatton as a production assistant and Omar Raja as a digital and social content commentator. Raja was previously with Bleacher Report. Cari Champion announced her departure from ESPN. 
  • Marquee Sports Network announced its Chicago Cubs coverage team of play-by-play voice Len Kasper, color analyst Jim Deshaies, studio host Cole Wright, and field reporter Taylor McGregor. Wright was previously with NFL Network
  • MLB.com made Erica Block an editorial producer and Jessica Camerato a Washington Nationals reporter.
  • USA Today Network saw the departures of sports digital producers Adam Hensley and Blake Morgan
