>> The Seattle Times: Don Shelton moved from sports editor to executive editor, Paul Barrett moved from assistant sports editor/pros to sports editor, Ed Guzman moved from assistant sports editor/colleges to ASE/pros, Scott Hanson moved from sports desk editor to ASE/colleges and Kitsap Sun sports editor Nathan Joyce was hired as high-school sports coordinator.

>> Green Bay Press-Gazette: Aaron Nagler, an NFL analyst for Sports Illustrated who co-founded the Cheesehead TV website, is joining thePackersNews.com coverage team as a multimedia reporter/social media strategist. Between the team at Green Bay, along with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, that makes a team of seven covering the Packers.

>> The Oklahoman: Ryan Sharp was named Sports Editor; Darnell Mayberry named Senior Assistant Sports Editor; Adam Kemp named Sports web editor; and Brooke Pryor is the new OU athletics beat writer.

>> San Antonio Express-News: Adam Zuvanich has joined the San Antonio Express-News sports department, effective Aug. 29. Most recently with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Zuvanich is covering high school sports in San Antonio, with an emphasis on enterprise.

>> South Florida Sun Sentinel: Former Boston Globe sports correspondent and Sports on Earth writer/producer Tim Healey has been named Miami Marlins beat reporter for the Sun Sentinel.

>> Louisville Courier-Journal: Fletcher Page, former Sports Editor at the Athens Banner-Herald, has been hired as the Kentucky men’s basketball beat writer for the Courier-Journal.

>> Detroit Free Press: Hired Chris Solari as its news Michigan State beat writer. Solari was formerly at the Lansing State Journal.

>> Mike Bass has joined Cox Media’s new Big Ten site, Land of 10, as deputy editor.

>> Rana LaShonn Cash has joined the Minneapolis Star-Tribune as its new Vikings/NFL editor.

>> Rachel Crader has joined The Kansas City Star as the assistant editor for digital.

>> The Times Leader (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) sports department recently hired DJ Eberle as its new sports reporter. Eberle worked for The Saratogian and The Troy Record for two years where he began as a sports clerk, but moved up to full-time sports writer in January. Eberle’s covered horse racing at the Saratoga Race Track, along with area college and high school athletics. He’s a graduate of Western New England University where he also played offensive tackle.

 

>> The Beaver County Times hired Jeremy Tepper, a University of Pittsburgh graduate, as a sportswriter to replace Lauren Kirschman, who left for pennlive.com.

 

>> The Times-Tribune (Scranton, Pa.) and The Citizens’ Voice (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.), both owned by Times-Shamrock Newspapers, underwent website redesigns. Also, The Times-Tribune’s will launch a redesign of its Sunday print edition, The Sunday Times on Oct. 9.

 

>> Safid Deen is the new Florida State beat writer for the Orlando Sentinel.

 

>>  Shaw Media has announced that Jon Styf will be the new editor of The Herald-News, Morris Herald-News and Herald Life.

 

>> The Sun Journal in Lewiston, Maine, is happy to welcome back writer Randy Whitehouse, who left the publication in 2014 after more than 15 years of service in both news and sports. Whitehouse’s return (finally) completes the staff and returns the section to full strength.
