8:30-9 a.m.: Breakfast Business meeting

9-10:30 a.m.: Majoring in the Minors: Panel discussion with John Schafer, director of media relations for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Phillies Triple A), and Jeff Schuler, ‘Pigs beat writer for The (Allentown) Morning Call following a "successful" inaugural season.

10:30 a.m.-Noon: Copy Editing with John McIntyre. Baltimore Sun’s copy desk guru shares his timeless tricks on copy editing. A how-to-do-it-and-still-love-it primer for this age of fewer people, less time on the desk.

Lunch until 1 p.m.

1-2:30 p.m.: A reverse panel discussion. Penn State’s Knight Chair for Sports Journalism and Society Malcolm Moran will moderate a panel of four or five PSU journalism students as they grill us on the state of the industry, trends in hiring, the importance of multi-media experience, and other issues.

2:30-4 p.m.: Sharing our successes. The Baltimore Sun’s Ron Fritz starts off the conversation with doing wall-to-wall NFL coverage and writing for the Front Page, and the rest of us can join in and talk about what is going right for us. Bring samples to show and share if you can.
