Make music with us to the opening reception

Here’s how big the APSE summer conference is:

We’re going to stop traffic.

Really.

And we’re going to make music.

That, too.

And you have to play your part.

It’s time to second line.

We’re going to get the conference off to a roaring start on Monday. Come join all of us and the Young Pinstripe Band at 6:10 p.m. on the Barronne Street side of The Roosevelt. The New Orleans Police Department will stop traffic on Canal Street. And then we will follow the band in a traditional second line (think of the beginning of “Live and Let Die” – without the murder of a British agent, of course) parade to Galatoire’s for the opening reception.

So, yes, even though the opening reception is set for 6:30 p.m., please don’t just go to the restaurant. If you do that, you’re going to miss the whole celebration, the joie de vivre. Get down at 6:10 p.m. to the Baronne Street side of The Roosevelt, stop traffic, make some noise, dance, holler. Bring a go cup if you want. But make sure to be there.

Do. Watcha. Wanna.
