Ad Chatter: I am seeking a job in sports journalism and I’m willing to cover any sport at the professional, collegiate or youth level. For three years in college I was the sports editor for The Beacon, the student-run newspaper for Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
At The Beacon, I covered the following sports: men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, tennis, golf, men’s and women’s cross country, baseball, softball, volleyball and lacrosse.
I wrote, edited and published all of my own articles and also had several different sports writers reporting directly to me. I also worked for the Sports Television department and have experience working live on the air, as well as shooting, editing and producing my own sports packages.
During the summer of 2015 I worked as an intern for GateHouse media, covering local news and sports for several towns in the Greater Boston area. As an intern I worked forty hours a week and did everything that would be expected of a full-time reporter, including coming up with my own story ideas, writing and editing the stories and taking photographs and videos when required.
In addition, for the last three years I have been working for WrestlingInc.com, a leading website covering professional wrestling and MMA. At WrestlingInc. I create my own story ideas and have experience working with social media and providing live, breaking news coverage.
