By now, if your paper published a football preview section – high school, college or pro – your readers should have had time to enjoy them, and you should have had an opportunity to recover from producing them.

With that in mind, it may be time to start putting ideas away for next year’s edition, and what better way to do that than to outright steal ideas from your friends and colleagues.

That means it is time for the APSE football tab exchange.

If you want to participate, here’s how you do it.

  1. Grab 15 or 20 of your best editions of your preview issue.
  2. Send them to me by Oct. 31.
  3. I’ll divvy them up and send you back a stack with enough ideas to help you plan next year’s new and improved edition.

Sounds pretty easy, huh? Well, here’s the catch. I’m not paying for return postage. So, to get your haul you will have to send me one of three things.

  1. An SASE with approximately $10 worth of postage
  2. A UPS account number, or
  3. A FedEx account number

The football exchange is open to any and all papers – APSE member or not. Last year we had 33 news organizations participate, and it would be great to see that number grow, so please take the time to ship me a box. You won’t be sorry.

Send your football preview issues to:
