Let's give a big hand to the latest sponsors of APSE's Diversity Fellowship Program: the Association for Women in Sports Media and the Los Angeles News Group.

AWSM donated $750 and LANG kicked in $500 to bring APSE's total to $3,750 so far for 2013-14.

They join Digital First Media, which recently donated $1,000; USA Today Sports Media Group, which contributed $1,000; and Michael Wallace (yes, former Diversity Fellow Michael Wallace of ESPN/ESPN.com), who personally gave $500!

We would like to thank Stef Loh of AWSM, Michael Anastasi of LANG, Jim Brady of Digital First Media, Dave Morgan of USA Today Sports Media Group and Michael Wallace for their generosity in helping fund this important APSE initiative.

We are still well short of our funding goal, which is $8,000.

If you would like to be a sponsor for the Diversity Fellowship Program, please contact APSE president Tim Stephens at tim.stephens@cbsinteractive.com, APSE executive director Jack Berninger at jackapse@aol.com or myself at jrojas@miamiherald.com.
