Auburn Undercover, a digital/web publication, has been accepted for APSE membership by unanimous vote of the executive committee.
Auburn Undercover covers Auburn athletics on all fronts with journalists in the field and across the 247Sports network. The staff
auburnundercoverconsists of editor and senior writer Brandon Marcello, an award-winning journalist previously with AL.com, The Jackson Clarion-Ledger and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette; editor emeritus and Hall of Fame journalist Phillip Marshall; writer Ryan Black (previously of the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer); and recruiting reporter Keith Niebuhr, who also got started as a newspaper reporter.
Most of the content is free, but “VIP” subscription content include scoops from inside sources, analytical pieces and in-depth, exclusive longform pieces behind the paywall at 247Sports. The site breaks news once a week on average, whether it is something as small as injury news or a pending coaching change.

Auburn Undercover covers all things Auburn athletics, but primarily focuses on football and basketball. With the emergence of softball as a big sport on campus after back-to-back trips to the Women’s College World Series, more resources have been put into covering that sport. The website also hosts guest columns from former players and conducts a weekly analysis piece breaking down X’s and O’s. The site also includes many studio-quality videos produced in the home offices through CBS Sports for added quality for every story.
Unique monthly page views vary, but the average for the year is Category C: “40,000-100,000 circulation; stand-alone websites with
250,000 to 750,000 unique monthly visitors.”
